Our goal is to inform you of upcoming events, sales, and other happenings here at Windsor/Mass Tire and in automotive world. For our first blog, I would like to introduce our company by telling you a little bit about our rich history.

Ben Kravitz and Harvey Rudnick founded Windsor Garden Shell back in August of 1971 on Walpole Street in Norwood. Thanks to quality service and old fashioned word-of-mouth, Ben and Harvey were able to expand in 1975 to Washington Street in Stoughton. Windsor Tire in Stoughton became their first official tire store and took on the Goodyear Tire line.

This business endeavor eventually set the foundation for Ben and Harvey’s next business venture, Summit Tire of New England, a wholesale tire distribution network which became the second largest distributor in the Northeast until it’s sale in 2011. In July of 1991 Ben and Harvey expanded their retail footprint by purchasing Mass Tire in South Weymouth Mass.

Mass Tire was already a very successful tire and auto repair facility with a long history of great customer service, expert team members, and a commitment to excellence. Mass Tire was a perfect fit in Ben and Harvey’s vision for the growth and continued success of the Mass Tire/Windsor tire family of retail stores. With continued acquisitions the company grew to 10 retail stores and 3 wholesale distribution centers covering 3 states, Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. Through all the many years of growth, Ben and Harvey continued to mentor new employees, and allow so many team members, including myself, to grow within the company.

I started at Windsor Tire Stoughton as a high school senior 31 years ago as an oil change and tire repair kid. Since that time I have directed three different Windsor/Mass Tire locations, and am currently in my 20th year as the Stoughton manager. Throughout that time, the mission and vision of our company has been simple and unchanging: Ben and Harvey have always led by example. Whether it is with customers or fellow team members, we treat everyone with the respect, kindness, and above all, honesty. That philosophy has led to countless successes for both the stores and for so many of our team members.

Within its ranks, the Windsor/Mass Tire family has multiple thirty plus year members, and many other team members at or above the 20 plus year mark. All of our locations have customers that have been frequenting our stores since they opened.

Windsor/Mass Tire has become a true family success story, and I know I am proud to be part of this family.
