Automobile Summer Maintenance
It seems as I grow older that time goes by so much quicker. I sometimes wonder if it is just me, or does this happen with other people approaching the big 5-0? Particularity this summer seems to have just flown by. August is here, my kids are preparing for school, my wife is making the school purchase lists, and I am thinking…I just put the A/C units in the windows…Truthfully, I always put off installing those heavy A/C units, I usually hurt my back, scratch window paint, and once I even dropped one out the second story window. I personally put of many tasks in life, as I am sure many of us do. The Time Management Ninja actually made a list of the top 50 tasks people put off.
I was not surprised to see that number three procrastinated task on his list was: getting the car maintenance done. I have been in the automotive/Tire business at Windsor Tire/Mass Tire for thirty-one years, and have watched so many things in this business change. When I started out we performed oil changes on almost all vehicles, every 6 months, we tuned up cars engines every year, performed coolant flushes yearly, serviced transmissions, differentials, rotations, brakes, replaced tires, and so many other services that today’s vehicles do not require, sometimes until 100,000 miles! There are still many preventative maintenance services that your vehicle does call for on a regular basis, and we at Windsor Tire/Mass Tire have all of the factory data available to us, just a click away. Your car’s owner’s manual will include most of that information also, but that can be confusing sometimes. As always, we offer free courtesy/maintenance checks so we can assist you in ensuring your car’s preventative maintenance schedule is up to date. Doing this for yourself and your vehicle, over the long term, will save you money, and give you the piece of mind that your vehicle is in good working order for all of the tasks in life that we do not put off. For example: driving your kids around to sporting events, or a friend’s house, or the mall, or a vacation road-trip, the list of destinations is endless. Please let us help you with the number three procrastinated task, maintaining the car. That is what we are here for, and we love doing what we do.
