Massachusetts requires all transportation network company (TNC) vehicles, such as Lyft and Uber vehicles, to pass an annual Transportation Network Inspection.
This inspection is in addition to the safety and emissions inspections. It can be performed at the same time by a licensed inspection station or within 12 months of obtaining a transportation network driver certificate, whichever comes first.
At Mass Tire & Auto Service, Inc., we are a licensed inspection station serving Weymouth, MA, Hingham, MA, Braintree, MA, and surrounding areas. See us when it's time for your Uber, Lyft, or other TNC vehicle inspection.
A Transportation Network Inspection includes checking the following:
See the Massachusetts Government website for more information on Inspections for TNC Vehicles.
The Inspector will issue a vehicle inspection report (VIR) that shows your vehicle passed or failed the inspection. If you pass, make sure to upload any documents or proof that your transportation network company requires. You must keep the VIR in your vehicle so it may be presented upon request.
If you fail the Transportation Network Inspection, you need to correct the problems and have the vehicle re-inspected. There is a free re-test within 20 days. After 20 days, payment for the new test in required.
If you have questions, let us know. The team at Mass Tire & Auto Service, Inc. looks forward to talking with you and assisting with your vehicle inspection needs.
